Janet S. Dumont

Jan is a shareholder of Riggs, Abney and practices primarily in the areas of employee benefits and employment law. Jan represents both public and private employers, insurance companies, third-party administrators, health care providers, and insurance agents and brokers, with an emphasis on employee welfare benefit plans, including plan design, documentation, funding, administration, subrogation recovery and ERISA, HIPAA and IRS compliance. Jan also represents both public and private employers in a wide range of human resources matters. She has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, preparation, interpretation, and implementation of employee communications, handbooks, policies and procedures, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, employment contracts, severance agreements, affirmative action programs, and other human resources materials.

Jan has over 30 years of industry experience in the field of employee benefits, including more than two years’ experience as Senior Manager of the Deloitte & Touche Oklahoma Benefits Practice and 12 years as a consultant, Contract Compliance Manager, and Marketing Account Executive for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. She is a registered health underwriter, a member of the National, Oklahoma and Oklahoma City Associations of Health Underwriters, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Tulsa and Oklahoma City Associations of Health Underwriters, and a former Steering committee member of the Tulsa Employee Benefits Group.
